GUIDED TOUR AND CLEAN-UP AT RDUM TAL-MADONNA
Rdum tal-Madonna hosts the largest colony of Yelkouan Shearwaters in the Maltese Islands and is the focus of Malta’s largest conservation project, the EU LIFE Yelkouan Shearwater Project (Progett Garnija). Rdum tal-Madonna is also home to a variety of flora and fauna for which it was declared as being a Natura 2000 site.
A 30-minute guided tour of the project site will be given byProject Manager Nicholas Barbara and Site Warden Matthew Borg Cardona.
Visitors will be given a brief talk on the project and the various conservation efforts aimed at protecting the Yelkouan Shearwater, whilst enjoying the unique character of Rdum tal-Madonna that distinguishes it as being a globally important habitat for seabirds, plants and other wildlife.
For those who would like to actively be part of this conservation project, a 1-hour clean up session will be held afterwards (gloves and bags will be provided).
